“Coral is a wonderful human and we're so grateful she was part of our birth experience. I was nervous about finding a doula in the beginning but as soon as we reached out Coral was engaged and receptive. She was a perfect fit for us. She was available whenever we needed and we really appreciated having someone to talk to about our appointments and decisions. I ended up having an induction but with Coral's help felt empowered to work with our doctors to make it how we wanted. Coral almost missed the birth of our daughter (completely my fault, I didn't wake my wife up to call her when I should have) but she did make it to the last 15-20 minutes of pushing. Her presence was immediately so calming and she seemed to know exactly what to say and do to help. As soon as she joined us I was able to sink so much deeper into myself and bring our baby into the world. She stayed with us after the birth and helped as we transitioned from labor and delivery to our maternity room. I appreciated so much being cared for and having that help to settle in after such a big event. “My pregnancy & labor story was immensely different than I could have ever planned for & I am so thankful our family had Coral to lean on at every new bend in the road. Of course being pregnancy & delivering during times of the COVID pandemic had its own obstacles & hurdles but then my plan of a home birth changed to an in hospital birth & from a natural birth to a c-section & Coral was so supportive of my feelings and helped me understand my rights & how to navigate each new situation. “Having watched many hospital births during my training as a physician assistant, I knew instantly when I learned I was expecting my first child that I wanted a home birth in which I would feel a tremendous sense of empowerment. During my search for a doula to add to my birth team, I held high expectations for the type of person I wanted by my side during one of the most beautiful and vulnerable moments of my life. I instantly connected with Coral. I sensed her mother-like essence over the phone and felt a connection with her instantly. “I worked together with Coral for the birth of my son in October (2020) and had a wonderful experience! Unfortunately, we were only able to initially meeting via zoom secondary to COVID19, but I truly felt like we were a great fit from the start. Coral has such a caring and empathetic personality and provides such important knowledge to a birthing person. She was available frequently to help me navigate the prenatal time with multiple resources and suggestions from past experiences. At 36 weeks, I realized that I wanted to change my OB office to help me achieve my birth plan and Coral reviewed multiple practices with me and pros and cons to help make the right decision. During the weeks leading up to my due date, she checked in frequently. During labor, my husband and I felt so fortunate to have her guidance with pushing positions and pain relief techniques. She worked together with the nurses, midwife and OB to help provide me the best care. She stayed with us for 18 or 19 hours and even helped me get my little guy to breastfeed before leaving! Coral also met with us to debrief about the experience a week later. I would highly recommend working with Coral; she allowed my husband to focus on helping me without panicking, and gave me confidence during my birth experience.”

“We can’t say enough good things about Coral. She was extremely professional and knowledgeable as our doula. We were planning on a home birth but then had to transfer to the hospital. Coral was with us every step of the way. She offered incredible support at home, fostering my feeling of strength and composure throughout the long labor. When we transferred to the hospital, she stayed by our side for the many, many hours we were there and for several hours after the birth, until we were comfortably settled in our room. It is because of her that my baby was put on the breast within an hour of the c-section and we now are able to breastfeed. Having Coral as our doula was crucial for having an informed experience at the hospital. She was able to understand the language the doctors were using and asked them to slow down and explain what they were doing to me. Given how exhausted I was and the surprise transfer, this was crucial. She was an amazing advocate for us in the hospital and gave incredible support every step of the way. “I will start off this review by saying that I never want to give birth without Coral- ever. She played such an important role in the birth of our son and I don’t know if we could have had such a positive experience if it wasn’t for her. Coral spent hours prenatally on FaceTime with us (due to COVID restrictions) and helped answer any questions I had throughout my pregnancy. She supported us and made us feel empowered to make decisions based on what was best for us as a family. When I went to my last few doctor appointments she helped calm my anxiety when the doctors wanted to induce me and gave me an idea of some questions I could ask to make sure an induction would have been what was best for me and my baby. I ended up going into labor naturally on my own and I was thankful that I felt strong enough to be able to advocate for myself and for my baby. Coral was in the hospital with me and my husband as soon as we were ready for her to come. She instantly made us both feel calm and comfortable and really was able to help us understand the next steps of what labor looks like. We had a really long labor (36 hours) and it was definitely a marathon event. Thank goodness we had Coral there to help get me into different positions, answer any questions we had, and make sure we were asking the right questions to the nurses and doctors. Because we are first time parents we had no idea what to expect but knowing we had Coral with us made the process smooth. When our baby was finally here, Coral stayed to help us wind down from labor and make sure we were adjusting as a family of 3. She then left and followed up with us about a week later. As a new mom I was feeling a lot of nighttime anxiety and she made sure that I knew she was only a text away. I cannot stress enough how fantastic Coral is as a doula and as a person. Right when you meet her you can tell she has such a kind and caring soul. I highly recommend that if you are considering hiring a doula that you hire her.”
